What is Holistic Optometry?
Several words can precede Optometry to help you understand the philosophy of the provider. "Developmental" Optometry is often used to describe care provided to children who are in need of developmental intervention. "Behavioral" Optometry focuses on how you engage with your visual environment and "Neuro" Optometry is used to describe care provided to someone who has experienced an injury to the brain or nervous system. Dr. Lane has settled into the distinction of Holistic Optometrist because it best describes her philosophy that every aspect of your life has the potential to impact your ability to access optimal vision. Regardless of your age or prior circumstance there are opportunities available to help maximize your vision. In Holistic Optometry, no stone is left unturned. An emphasis on discovering the root cause of difficulty is maintained. |
Dr. Lane has published a guide to help parents learn exercises to enhance their baby's development. This book can also help Optometrists and other practitioners give parents a tangible resource to help empower them to take a more active roll in their baby's development.
